3 unweaned kittens suffering from several illnesses arrived at Heather, a foster mother for felines, in Louisiana (United States). They were in such poor condition that veterinarians only gave them a few days to live. The young woman then rolled up her sleeves to thwart this unfavorable prognosis…
Heather has been welcoming kittens into her home for many years. This good Samaritan with a big heart spares no effort to help animals in distress get back on track. Recently, she met the Crusty Noodles club , a trio of kittens that she decided to rename in reference to pasta shapes : Rigatoni , Fettuccine , and Macaroni .
A long list of ills
These 3 little balls of fur had a difficult start. Their state of health was so worrying that they were given only days to live, reports Cole & Marmalade . “ I think they were weaned too quickly and suffered a respiratory infection due to the stress of going between the shelter and a handful of foster homes ,” says Heather .
The fight did not stop there, since the 3 kittens were infected with ringworm . The nursery had become a veritable “ fungal jungle ,” according to Heather , which required quarantine and hours of “ deep cleaning .” Fortunately, the young woman is experienced. She helped them get rid of their illness using topical treatments.
Their efforts paid off
Indeed, the 3 kittens seem to have defied all predictions . They managed to overcome the challenges, one by one, and get back on track. For Heather , it was the greatest reward. The young woman did not take long to discover their personalities, each more endearing than the last.
