Mikey Madison made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut on March 29, 2025, just weeks after winning the Best Actress award at the 2025 Oscars for her role in Anora. Joining her for the night was musical guest Morgan Wallen.
During her opening monologue, Madison poked fun at her stripper skills, a key part of her performance in Anora. She humorously explained, “I did my own stunts for the film, including the dancing,” and went on to challenge the notion that it wasn’t actually her performing on the pole. To prove it, she walked over to a nearby stripper pole, only for the scene to transition to a double, dressed in a wig and sparkling black dress identical to Madison’s. After the pole-dancing routine, Madison reappeared on screen, flipping her hair and winking at the camera.
Throughout the night, Madison appeared in several sketches, including one where she played a jury duty candidate and another as a doctor having a tense moment with a midwife in the delivery room. She also starred as a student in an acting class with an over-the-top teacher.
Morgan Wallen performed his upcoming singles “I’m the Problem” and “Just in Case” from his new album, I’m the Problem, marking his return to SNL after first appearing in 2020.
Madison’s appearance on SNL followed her victory at the 2025 Academy Awards, where she won Best Actress for her role as a sex worker in Anora. During her acceptance speech, Madison reflected on the surreal experience of winning and thanked her team, the sex-worker community, and her fellow nominees.
Madison, who also earned recognition at the 2025 BAFTA Awards, has been receiving exciting offers since her breakthrough in Anora, and she’s looking forward to the next steps in her career.
Saturday Night Live will return on April 5, 2025, with Jack Black hosting and Elton John and Brandi Carlile as the musical guests. Anora is available to purchase and stream now.
