Corey Seager Donates $4 Million to Texas Flood Relief: “I Hear the Crying from My Hometown”.Y1

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The horrific flood that swept through Central and South Texas left behind catastrophic consequences: thousands of families lost their homes, many people were missing, and an entire community fell into despair. In the midst of the storm, an unexpected action from Corey Seager, the brightest star of the Texas Rangers, brought the entire state to tears.

Seager announced a $4 million donation from his personal fortune to help the victims, especially in the poor communities of Travis, Williamson and Bastrop, where the floods left many families with bare roofs.

“When you hear the crying coming from the place you call home, you can’t sit still,” Seager said, his voice quiet. “The grandmother who raised me … now has only slippers and an old photograph.”

Seager grew up in Charlotte but has roots and extended family in Elgin, Texas, where his grandmother ran a popular neighborhood bakery. She gave him his first wooden baseball bat when he was 6, and watched every game he played on TV.

“She called me last week, crying, ‘My cakes are gone, son.’ It killed me inside.”

Seager’s gesture was more than symbolic. The $4 million will go immediately to four local relief organizations, along with tents, generators, clean water, and food trucks directly mobilized by the Rangers.

Coach Bruce Bochy said emotionally:

“Seager is not a man of many words. But when he acts, the world listens.”

The next day, Seager took to the field wearing a special jersey: “For Elgin” on the front, with his grandmother’s name on the back instead of his. When he hit a home run in the sixth inning, he didn’t raise his arms in celebration, but instead put his hand over his heart and looked up at the stands where his grandmother sat every game.

Social media exploded with the hashtags:
🔹 #SeagerForTexas
🔹 #PlayForGrandma
🔹 #TexasStrong

Corey Seager is not just a Rangers MVP – he is the MVP of a state struggling with tears, loss, and hope. In the sound of the bat on the field that night, people heard not only the sound of the ball hitting the glove… but also the heart of a grandchild trying to keep a promise to his grandmother in the midst of the storm of life:

“Grandma taught me how to hold a bat… now I will use it to protect my homeland.”
