Two Alligators Engage in a Epic Two-Hour Showdown on South Carolina Golf Course

October 31, 2023 by Pham Hien

Alligators are not inherently antagonistic animals like crocodiles. However, despite the fact that they are much less ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀᴏᴜs than saltwater or Nile crocodiles, which are more aggressive and larger, the general public’s view of these reptiles is that of vicious, ʙʟᴏᴏᴅthirsty monsters.

On a golf course on South Carolina’s 18th hole, two alligators were seen ғɪɢʜᴛing on camera. At the Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes in Hardeeville, the growling beasts engaged in a furious combat for two hours while players stood in ᴀᴡᴇ.

While playing golf with his buddies, Matthew Proffitt came across the gators ғɪɢʜᴛing and captured the creatures on camera as they struggled against one another using their strong teeth.

One of the creatures was seen biting off the other alligator’s arm. That animal struck back by biting the aggressor’s head. The two remained in that position for the majority of the ғɪɢʜᴛ. The video demonstrates that neither would let the other go. They would try to roll or shake after remaining still for a little while with their jaws locked on one another.

The sʜᴏᴄᴋed golfer said that the brawl lasted for approximately two hours. The movie did not show how it ended but the animals must have had extraordinary endurance to last the distance considering the combat lasted for several hours. Alligators are abundant in the area, but up until that point, Profitt had not noticed one on the course.
